7 Quick Takes Friday (set #99)

7 Quick Takes Friday

This week: Abortion workers from other “clinics” tell how Dr. Kermit Gosnell is not an isolated case. Bioethicist Father Robert Gahl reflects on this case. Megyn Kelly interviews Jack McMahon, Gosnell’s attorney. What a “shacking out cohabitation ceremony” might look like. The drama and terror of some family events. A contraption to dispense communion. Ever wonder how minor car dents are repaired?

— 1 —

Repeat after me: “Dr. Kermit Gosnell is not an isolated case.”

This is what abortion is. Frankly, I do not understand why people are outraged that these doctors are killing babies after they leave the womb. It is absolutely no difference to the child which side they are killed on.

— 2 —

Father Robert Gahl, Professor of Ethics at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, reflects on the actions of Dr. Kermit Gosnell in this CNS video:

Fewer and fewer people are getting married. (I won’t even get into the whole gay agenda to redefine and kill it.) Of those who get married, it is obvious that many do not understand the covenant. So, this is often the arrangement:

Family get togethers. Oh, the drama.

Other than Lutherans and Anglicans (/Episcopalians), Protestants believe communion is only symbolic and do not receive it weekly, if at all. No offense meant, but since they lack valid Holy Orders we (Catholics / Orthodox) know it can not truly become the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord. It is a good thing however, that they receive communion as best they can. Still, this is a bit sacrilegious is it not?

This contraption is called a Purity Host Dispenser from a company named Purity Solutions. Don’t look for this at your local parish any time soon. This was spotted by The Ironic Catholic.

Did you ever wonder how dents are repaired in cars these days? Usually they don’t require filler, sanding and repainting. This video shows how it is done:

7 Quick Takes Friday

This week: On “gay marriage,” Piers Morgan continues his brave challenge against rational thought. Ex-lesbian Linda Jernigan discusses true peace and its absence in the homosexual lifestyle. Pope Francis marches for life. The Sisters of Mary backgrounder for the American Bible Challenge. Ronald Davis – not a “bum” but a human being. Faith vs. Reason explored by Peter Kreeft. You’re dead, now what?

— 1 —

A debate on “gay marriage” was recently conducted on TV. Ryan Anderson articulates clearly and effectively what marriage is. Piers Morgan again shows his winning interview style.

BTW, a petition on the White House website was created to deport Piers Morgan. It received FOUR TIMES the number of signatures required for an official response. The response was, of course, as expected. No word yet on Morgan’s promise to deport himself.

— 2 —

Linda Jernigan, has a lot to say about homosexuality and true peace. I love this woman! She is faithful, articulate and genuine. Genuine because she knows what she talks about. Start watching this 6½ minute video and I bet that you watch all of it.

— 3 —

Pope Francis surprised participants of the Italian March for Life last Sunday by unexpectedly joining them!

— 4 —

There are nuns and sisters under investigation by the Vatican (the LCWR; easily identified by their lack of habits, non-orthodox beliefs, opposition to the Church, silence on abortion, silence on “gay marriage”, silence on religious liberty, lack of vocations, etc.). Then their are all the other nuns and sisters, such as the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist (pretty much the exact opposite of the LCWR leadership).

— 5 —

Not invisible at all, but the face of Jesus among us.

Then the king will say to those on his right, “Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.”

— 6 —

Is belief in God irrational? Does atheism make sense? Dr. Peter Kreeft explains why believing in God is far more rational than atheism.

— 7 —

You’re dead, now what? A nice little video presenting eschatology 101:

Marcel LeJeune spotted this over at his always excellent Aggie Catholics. He has a great set of links to brief essays on a dozen related topics. Definitely worth a look if you have any questions (how could you not???).

This week: The May issue of New Evangelists Monthly is out! Publix airs a beautiful Mother’s Day ad. The mainstream media Gosnell blackout is partially lifted, but still very effective. Another new, undercover video shows the legal and operating late term (up to 28 weeks) abortionists. Planned Parenthood explains their position on post-birth abortions (spoiler: not a problem). One abortion survivor owes his life to the inconvenient distance of the closest abortuary. Feminists For Life have some questions for the New York governor.

Happy Mother’s Day!!! Publix is airing this beautiful promotional advertisement for Mother’s Day. It is pro-motherhood and pro-life. Some will hate it.

— 3 —

Last week I (along with everyone else NOT in the mainstream media) noted how the media had maintained a blackout on abortionist Dr. Kermit Gosnell’s trial. The good news is yes, the blackout is now partially lifted. The bad news is that partially lifted means mentioned, but rarely. They are still keeping most of the American public uninformed as intended.

— 4 —

Of course the abortion industry and their media minions do not want to discuss late term abortions. Gosnell is just ahead of his time in the post-birth abortion business…   or at least getting caught (see this). This is no aberration.

Not quite at the level of Gosnell, Leroy Carhart comes close. Here is how it works:

— 5 —

Planned Parenthood explains their position on live births, to a legislature and to late term pregnant women. It is alarming how matter-of-fact they are in their big business, baby killing service. Brutal and inhuman.

— 6 —

Sometimes babies live simply because the nearest abortion clinic is not conveniently located. Indiana Representative Marlin Stutzman is one such example.

— 7 —

Feminists For Life ask some good questions. It is rhetorical, of course. The answer is “because he is a radical, extreme liberal”.

7 Quick Takes Friday

This week: Killing babies born alive is SOP for some in the abortion industry (Philadelphia’s Dr. Kermit Gosnell is not an isolated case). Planned Parenthood personnel quit over dangerous conditions. How well is the big-spending European Union doing? Politically incited violence – the Family Research Center shooting. A Catholic IQ test. Jackie Evancho. A dramatic, foiled suicide attempt.

— 1 —

The abortion industry and their PR arm (the mainstream media) at first maintained a complete blackout on the trial of late term abortionist Dr. Kermit Gosnell. Now they say his repeated infanticide was an aberration. Live Action shows how common it really is:

Lila Rose, president of Live Action, discusses:

For the pro-abortion response, see this.

— 2 —

A Planned Parenthood abortion clinic is so unsafe and so unsanitary that nurses are quitting in order to protect themselves and their licenses. The Susan B. Anthony List has commented on the affair.

— 3 —

Our uncontrolled national debt, blown into the stratosphere like a rocket ship in just one administration, puts us on the same path as the European Union. So, how is that unlimited spending working out for them? Nigel Farage (a member of the European Parliament) has these thoughts to share:

The Southern Poverty Law Center website still lists the Family Research Center as a hate group. Painting a bulls-eye on this pro-family organization motivated one man to attempt the murder of as many of their people as possible (this is not conjecture, it was literally in his confession). He would have succeeded too, were it not for Leo Johnson – a hero security guard who stopped him (and got wounded in the process). This is the video:

— 5 —

Check-out the Catholic IQ Test. You will enjoy the artwork that accompanies the test as well as some of the creative, incorrect answers offered. Be forewarned – it is a bit long (but you can save your work and come back later).

— 6 —

I first noticed Jackie Evancho when she was on America’s Got Talent. My friend Tom sent this link of her performing a year later (when she was 11):

— 7 —

An alert guard sensed something was wrong. He positioned himself near a man on a train platform. Just as the train approaches, within a few feet of the man, he throws himself in front of it. In a fraction of a second, the guard literally pulls him back onto the platform. This happens really fast so pay attention!

Who is responsible for the development of children? You might say parents. You would be wrong, according to the left. Of course, they usually don’t come right out and say it. Every now and then they mess up and say exactly what they believe.

Parents can not be trusted to teach their children correctly. Left to parents alone, kids are at risk of learning hate-filled Christian values of morality. It takes a village to do the job – a collective (a very socialist word) notion that these are “our children.” So how can “our children” be properly indoctrinated / brainwashed invested in? By the community, and by “community” (to which they properly belong) they mean leftist government.

The Swiss Guard protects the Holy Father and secures the Vatican. They are rarely the center of attention, but are always on the periphery.

A historical Quote of the Week:

Today, having a clear faith based on the Creed of the Church is often labeled as fundamentalism. Whereas relativism, that is, letting oneself be tossed here and there, carried about by every wind of doctrine [Ephesians 4:14], seems the only attitude that can cope with modern times. We are building a dictatorship of relativism that does not recognize anything as definitive and whose ultimate goal consists solely of one’s ego and desires.
